Keith and Cecile Gordon Memorial Fund Scholarships
Keith devoted his entire career to Hillsdale and its students, joining the staff in 1958 and retiring in 1990. He taught Industrial Arts, served as department chair, coached tennis, and most importantly was a friend, mentor, and colleague to many.
After retiring, Keith remained connected to Hillsdale, staying in contact with numerous former students, organizing monthly breakfasts at Nini’s for retired Hillsdale teachers, administering and presenting OKL scholarships, enjoying school events, and perhaps most notably, being a founder and the soul of the annual Olde Knights’ Luncheon (now the Hillsdale HS Alumni Luncheon).
The Hillsdale Alumni established the Keith Gordon Memorial Fund as a tribute to Keith’s legacy. When his wife, Cecile, passed away, the Alumni chose to honor both Keith and Cecile with the Keith and Cecile Gordon Memorial Fund. Funds are generously contributed by those who attend the annual Hillsdale HS Alumni Luncheon and those who wish to honor Keith and Cecile's memory, including, most generously, former HHS counselor and administrator, Joan Fitzgerald.
All donations go to support a designated named scholarship for Keith and Cecile and for two of their friends and colleagues, Homer Zugelder and Rich Mazzoncini, and to fund projects identified by Hillsdale to support current Hillsdale students.
